Sleeping Disorders can affect anyone!

When dealing with a snoring problem, you could be faced with one of two issues: primary snoring or the more sinister Obstructive Sleep Apnea, or OSA. To understand the differences between these two types of snoring, you must understand exactly how the snoring process works.

Additionally, it is important to understand the difference because while primary snoring can simply be an irritant to your partner, Obstructive Sleep Apnea can lead to other significant health problems, and in some cases can even be deadly!

What is a Sleeping Disorder?

What is a sleeping disorder? Many people aren’t usually sure what constitutes a sleeping disorder. Most health professionals usually classify a sleeping disorder as the inability to get enough sleep or quality sleep during the night. Here is some information on the most common types of sleeping disorders.

Sleeping disorders can be serious for many people. Sleep has a lot to do with our moods, productivity and personal relationships. If a person does not get the required amount or quality of sleep each night they can be extremely moody, depressed or frustrated. Usually people that suffer from sleeping disorders can not function as well and their work productivity can be poor. This can lead to a variety of factors that can ultimately affect personal relationships.

If you or a loved one is having problems sleeping during the night or having problems with fatigue during the day, it is advisable that they consult with a physician for a proper diagnosis and treatment of sleeping disorders.

Sleeping disorders can be characterized as the inability to fall asleep during the night, constantly waking up during the night, falling asleep at inappropriate times during the day or not feeling refreshed in the morning after a night of sleep.

There are many types of sleeping disorder but the most common types are insomnia, sleep apnea and narcolepsy. The good news is that these sleeping disorders can be treated either with medication or medical devices. Most of these disorders can be treated in a relatively short time which means that you can get back to having a quality nights rest.
